ENERGY PROGRAM COOLING ASSISTANCE AVAILABLE
Lincoln Hills Development Corporation (LHDC) announces the availability of funds through the Energy Assistance Cooling Program. The Cooling Program provides eligible households with two fans. If families are elderly, handicapped, or have children five or under, they will qualify for a $100 payment towards their electric bill or an air conditioner. Air conditioners are provided to families who have a health problem (verified by a doctor’s statement) requiring an air conditioner. People may apply for the Energy Assistance Cooling Program at the following LHDC locations: Crawford County: 508 West 5 th Street, English, Indiana, phone: (812) 338-2350 (Crawford County office open on Tuesdays and Wednesdays only); Perry County: 302 Main Street, Tell City, Indiana, phone: (812) 547-3435, extension 231; Spencer County: 501 Washington Street, Rockport, Indiana, phone: (812) 649-5034 (Spencer County office open on Thursdays and Fridays only). Persons interested in applying for the Energy Assistance Cooling Program must call in advance for an appointment. Heads of households may be eligible for assistance if the household’s gross income does not exceed 150 percent of the Federal Poverty Guidelines. Listed below is a chart which shows the Federal Poverty Guidelines that will be used to determine income eligibility for the Energy Assistance Program.
