LHDC Continues to Accept Applications for Energy Assistance

Lincoln Hills Development Corporation (LHDC) is continuing to accept applications for the Energy Assistance Program. The Energy Assistance Program is designed to assist low-income families with the high cost of home energy through the partial payment of utility and or fuel bills. LHDC has been accepting applications since November 2002, and has served 1,177 families (serving 402 in Crawford County , 442 in Perry County , and 333 in Spencer County ) with an average benefit of $278.00. Larry Kleeman, Executive Director said that households may be eligible for assistance if the household’s gross income does not exceed 125 percent of the Federal Office of Management and Budget Poverty Guidelines that will be used to determine income eligibility for the Energy Assistance Program. Income must be verified and determined for all household members age 18 and above. Guidelines are as follows: 125% FEDERAL POVERTY GUIDELINES

If there are more than 6 members in the household, add $3,850 for each additional household member.
