HEAD START & EARLY HEAD START “ENROLLMENT DAY” & PRESCHOOL OPEN HOUSE

May 3rd, 2017

NOW ENROLLING for the 2017-2018 school year!!!

The Lincoln Hills Development Corporation’s (LHDC) North Crawford Head Start will hold a preschool open house and enrollment day on May 12, 2017, from 9:30 a.m. – 4:00 p.m. CDT at the LHDC Head Start Center located at English, Indiana. Parents are welcome to visit and tour the classrooms and Head Start staff will be available to answer questions. Refreshments will be served.

LHDC’s North Crawford Head Start Center is accepting applications to enroll 3- to 5-year-old children in its preschool program for the 2017-2018 school year. Early Head Start is currently enrolling children from birth to 3 years of age and pregnant women. Families interested in enrolling in Head Start or Early Head Start should bring proof of family income and the child’s birth certificate, as those items are required to enroll in these programs.

LHDC’s Head Start utilizes “Creative Curriculum,” a researched-based educational curriculum that focuses on preschool aged children. The classrooms are staffed with caring teachers, all of whom have a bachelor’s or associate’s degree in Early Childhood or Education. Children learn through developmentally appropriate play-based activities within the classrooms and develop both social and academic skills to prepare them for kindergarten. The program is free to families who meet age and income guidelines. In many cases LHDC’s Head Start provides transportation to and from school. Through the Child and Adult Care Food Program, free meals are provided to children enrolled in the Head Start program.
