LHDC Retired and Senior Volunteer Program (RSVP) Seeks Volunteers

The Retired and Senior Volunteer Program, sponsored by Lincoln Hills Development Corporation, is looking to expand its team of volunteers in Crawford, Perry and Spencer Counties.  As part of the Senior Corps, RSVP is America’s largest volunteer network for people 55 and over, with more than 300,000 volunteers tackling tough issues in communities nationwide. Volunteers choose how and where they want to serve, how much time they want to give, and if they wish to share their skills or develop new ones.

Volunteers often donate their time at nonprofit or public organizations such as food pantries, nursing homes, local schools, hospitals, and community outreach programs. Studies show that older Americans who volunteer frequently live longer and report better health. Volunteering can also lead to more friendships and a more positive attitude.

If you are interested in improving lives and fostering civic engagement through volunteering, please contact Kathleen Ferguson, Lincoln Hills Development Corporation Retired and Senior Volunteer Manager at 812-547-3435 ext. 230 or email at kferguson@lhdc.org.
