The Senior Farmer’s Market Nutrition Program (SFMNP) is available in Crawford County and Perry County under the sponsorship of Lincoln Hills Development Corporation through the Retired and Senior Volunteer Program (RSVP). The program will provide voucher checks from the Indiana Department of Health to income eligible senior households. The program encourages income eligible senior citizens to purchase nutritious, locally grown produce which helps support our community’s farmers. To be eligible for the program, the participant’s household income must not exceed 185% of the Federal Poverty Guidelines and be a resident of either Crawford County or Perry County. Participants must also be at least 60 years of age or be a disabled person age 21 to 59 living in housing for the elderly/disabled served by a congregate meal service. Each eligible individual will receive a check booklet worth $20 that may be used June 3 through October 19, 2019. All applicants must provide their driver’s license or State I.D., name, date of birth, and the last four digits of the social security numbers and income for all members of the household.

Eligible participants may apply for the program by contacting Kim Scales at 812-547-3435 ext. 230, toll free at 1-800-467-1435 ext. 230, or by email kscales@LHDC.org for an appointment. There are open sign up sessions throughout both counties and that information can be found on Lincoln Hills Development Corporation’s Facebook page and website www.LHDC.org. Due to limited funding, the program is offered on a first come, first serve basis.
