South Spencer Classroom 1 – Gingerbread Hunt!

January 8th, 2018

You Can’t Catch Me, I’m the Gingerbread Man!

We’re going on a Gingerbread Hunt!

Before leaving for Christmas Break, students in the Lincoln Hills Development Corporation South Spencer Classroom 1 enjoyed going on a Gingerbread Man hunt.   The Head Start children listened to the story “The Gingerbread Man Loose in the School.” And then were given clues. The clues were hints of where the Gingerbread Man might possibly be hiding. After following all the clues the Head Start children found the Gingerbread Man napping in the classroom after his venture around the Head Start Center.

The educational purpose of the activity was for children to establish and sustain positive relationships by forming relationships with adults and interacting with peers. The children listened to and understood increasingly complex language by comprehending language and following directions. Children also demonstrated positive approaches to learning by attending, engaging, and persisting in the activity, along with solving problems and showing flexibility and inventiveness in thinking. All enjoyed the Gingerbread Hunt !
