Frequently Asked Questions - Energy Assistance Program

Do I need to re-apply for the energy assistance program (EAP) every year?
Yes. We typically send the new applications in early September to all the applicants from the prior year. You can only apply once during each program year.
I got an approval letter for eap. Why hasn't there been a credit show up on my account statement?
Though we may have approved your application, it can take up to 120 days for the credit to appear on a statement that you receive

Frequently Asked Questions - Housing Choice Voucher

I'm on the waiting list for a housing choice voucher, also known as a section 8 voucher. How long before i can get assistance?
The wait time for a housing choice voucher depends on how quickly spots become open. Current participants may become ineligible or leave the program for another reason. When these instances occur, it opens new spots up. Spots for the Section 8 program are refilled as they become vacant. Please note that there is not always a waiting list for this program. Spots may be available immediately, dependent upon the situation.

I need repairs done on my home. what does the weatherization program provide?
Weatherization primarily focuses on energy efficiency enhancements such as insulation, air sealing, vapor barriers, and energy efficient lighting.
