Lincoln Hills Development Corporation (LHDC), a locally governed Community Action Agency, engages in making life better by providing opportunities to empower people to improve the quality of life and address the causes and effects of poverty in Southern Indiana.

We thank you for your donation and support of Lincoln Hills Development Corporation.  LHDC is a not-for-profit organization under Section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code, making your donation tax deductible to the extent allowed by law.

​Serving on Boards

Lincoln Hills Development Corporation (LHDC), a locally governed, not-for-profit agency established in 1965, provides essential services in Southern Indiana and is seeking interested and dedicated volunteers from Crawford, Perry and Spencer Counties for possible membership on its Board of Directors, Head Start/Early Head Start Policy Council, Healthy Families Advisory Boards, or RSVP Advisory Council.

If you have a desire to improve the quality of life in Southern Indiana, and have an interest in volunteering as a board member to help lead this vibrant organization, we’d like to hear from you. Contact Randal R. Dennison, Jr., LHDC Executive Director, for more information:

Volunteer

Become a Head Start Volunteer
The Head Start program utilizes volunteers in a variety of ways, such as classroom aides and field trip chaperones. Contact the Head Start or Early Head Start center nearest you to make a difference in a child’s life!

Become a Retired or Senior Volunteer
Join over 200 other volunteers 55 and older in Crawford, Perry and Spencer Counties who provide volunteer services at various worksites in their communities. Volunteers are stationed at locations such as schools, libraries, community centers, and hospitals. Contact the RSVP Director at 1-800-467-1435, extension 230 to become a volunteer today.

Gift In-Kind

An in-kind donation to Lincoln Hills Development Corporation is a gift of goods and services that LHDC would have to otherwise buy if they hadn’t been donated. Examples include books for the Head Start library, crafting supplies for our Senior Programs, or baby care items for our Healthy Families program.

Certain needs change from time to time for our various programs. Current needs are:
  • New/unopened packages of infant diapers
  • New school supplies for Head Start

The value of the donated supplies or services may be recorded as the amount that LHDC would have to pay for similar items.  Donors of in-kind gifts cannot take a deduction for the time that they donated as a part of an in-kind gift. Only the actual out-of-pocket expenses for which donor have receipts can be treated as a tax-deductible charitable gifts.  As with any gift or donation to LHDC, an in-kind donation is very much appreciated.
