Lincoln Hills Development Corporation (LHDC), a locally governed Community Action Agency, engages in making life better by providing opportunities to empower people to improve the quality of life and address the causes and effects of poverty in Southern Indiana.
If you are passionate about economic and social justice for all and would like to contribute to our organization, there are several opportunities listed below. We hope you will join our efforts to change people's lives and improve communities in order to benefit the programs and services provided by LHDC in twelve southern Indiana counties.

Become a Head Start Volunteer
The Head Start program utilizes volunteers in a variety of ways, such as classroom aides and field trip chaperones. Contact the Head Start or Early Head Start center nearest you to make a difference in a child’s life!
Become a Retired or Senior Volunteer
Join over ninety volunteers 55 and older in Crawford, Perry and Spencer Counties who provide volunteer services at various worksites in their communities. Volunteers are stationed at locations such as schools, libraries, community centers, and hospitals. Contact the RSVP Manager at 1-800-467-1435, extension 230 to become a volunteer today.
Become a Head Start Volunteer

An in-kind donation to Lincoln Hills Development Corporation is a gift of goods and services that LHDC would have to otherwise buy if they hadn’t been donated. Examples include books for the Head Start library, crafting supplies for our Senior Programs, or baby care items for our Early Head Start program.
Certain needs change from time to time for our various programs. Current needs are:
The value of the donated supplies or services may be recorded as the amount that LHDC would have to pay for similar items. Donors of in-kind gifts cannot take a deduction for the time that they donated as a part of an in-kind gift. Only the actual out-of-pocket expenses for which a donor has receipts can be treated as a tax-deductible, charitable gift. As with any gift or donation to LHDC, an in-kind donation is very much appreciated.
