The Housing Choice Voucher Program, also known as Section 8, is a rental assistance program for families that are below 50% of the area median income. Subsidies are made to ensure that families are paying an affordable rate for housing costs based on the family’s income.
In general, 30% of a family’s income must go toward rent/utilities, and the remainder is covered by program funding. LHDC is contracted by the Indiana Housing and Community Development Authority to administer housing voucher assistance in Crawford, Gibson, Perry, Spencer, Warrick, and Vanderburgh counties in Southwest Indiana. |
