LHDC Presents: Poverty Awareness and Resources Series 

LHDC, the Indiana Community Action Association, and the Indiana Institute for Working Families will host six virtual workshops (two per county) in Perry, Spencer, and Crawford Counties. These workshops will be split into two sessions and will provide a section on poverty overview and awareness and a section on local poverty resources, referral mechanisms, and networking. The workshops will be virtual with online registration.

As this is a TWO-PART series, please make sure you register for BOTH session 1 and session 2.

What are the workshop sessions about?

Lincoln Hills Development Corporation, the Indiana Community Action Association, and the Indiana Institute for Work Families will host six virtual workshops (two per county) to Perry, Spencer, and Crawford Counties.

These workshops will be split into two sessions and will provide a session on poverty overview and awareness and a session on local poverty resources, referral mechanisms, and networking.

The workshops will be held via Zoom. Registration will be required for each session. The workshops will also be recorded and provided via LHDC social media and LHDC website.
Who should attend the workshop sessions?

All economic development corporations, chambers, local agencies, community stakeholders, healthcare administrators, elected officials, educators, and other community members are encouraged to attend.

PART 1: POVERTY AWARENESS

This session will provide factual evidence and statistics to attendees in order to bring awareness of poverty issues in each county.

PART 2: POVERTY RESOURCES & NETWORKING

This session will connect individuals with local resources, promote local agencies, support networking opportunities, and more to prevent and decrease poverty.
The workshops will be held via Zoom. Registration will be required for each session. The dates for each session are below:

  • Poverty Overview in Perry County: Friday, August 27th at 9 AM CDT
  • Poverty Overview in Spencer County: Friday, September 17th at 9 AM CDT
  • Poverty Overview in Crawford County: Friday, October 1st at 10 AM EDT
  • Perry County Poverty Resources & Networking: Friday, October 15th at 9 AM CDT
  • Spencer County Poverty Resources & Networking: Friday, October 29th at 9 AM CDT
  • Crawford County Poverty Resources & Networking: Friday, November 5th at 10 AM EDT
