Tell City, IN, May 27, 2021– The Senior Farmers' Market Nutrition Program (SFMNP) for Crawford County and Perry County under the sponsorship of Lincoln Hills Development Corporation through the Retired and Senior Volunteer Program (RSVP) will begin in June.

The program provides voucher checks from the Indiana State Department of Health to income-eligible senior households in Crawford County and Perry County. The program encourages income-eligible senior citizens to purchase nutritious, locally grown produce, which helps support our community's farmers.
To be eligible for the program, participants must meet the income guidelines outlined below (income less than 185% of the Federal Poverty Income Guidelines) and be a resident of either Crawford County or Perry County. Participants must also be at least 60 years of age or be a disabled person at least 55-59 years of age and living in housing for the elderly/disabled served by a congregate meal service. Each eligible individual will receive a check booklet worth $20 to use through October 16, 2021.

LHDC will be offering a hybrid option to this year's program providing participants the choice of signing up via mail or attending one of the in-person registration sessions in Crawford and Perry Counties. Sign-up sessions will require your driver's license or government-issued photo ID, income, and last four digits of social security number for all members of your household. Participants from the 2020 SFMNP will receive an application by mail.

The application may be returned to LHDC or brought to one of the in-person sign-up sessions. Check out the SFMNP page below for more information, or contact Kathleen Ferguson, LHDC RSVP Manager, at 1-800-467-1435, ext. 230 or kferguson@LHDC.org.
