Tell City, IN, July 27, 2021 – Perry County Council on Aging hosted a Senior Health and Resource Fair at the Schergens Center on July 8, 2021. Rebecca Ferrell, Health Insurance Navigator, Rachel Schaefer, Perry County Resource Coordinator, and Kathleen Ferguson, Retired and Senior Volunteer Program Manager, provided information regarding LHDC services and a gift basket for a giveaway.
“LHDC is grateful for the opportunity to connect with seniors in our community. We thank the Perry County Council on Aging for hosting us during the Perry County Senior Health Fair,” said Kathleen Ferguson, LHDC RSVP Manager.
The RSVP Manager spoke with several current and potential volunteers in our community regarding the Senior Farmers’ Market Nutrition Program and the RSVP Program. The Perry County Resource Coordinator was in attendance to provide information regarding SNAP benefits, housing options, and resource options in the community. Covering Kids and Families of LHDC was also in attendance and shared information about health insurance options for seniors.
LHDC would like to thank Rebecca Etienne, RSVP volunteer and policy council member, who assisted with health screenings during the event.
This free, public event brought together numerous community organizations to provide resource information for seniors in the community. Several providers offered free health screening, live presentations, resource information, and drawings for gift baskets. Over 40 vendors attended this event with around 100 attendees.
