Lincoln Hills Development Corporation’s RSVP hosts Bus Trip

Virginia Beach, Colonial Williamsburg & Historic Norfolk, Virginia

Lincoln Hills Development Corporation’s Retired and Senior Volunteer Program (RSVP) presents a Diamond Tours Virginia bus trip that includes Virginia Beach, Colonial Williamsburg, and Historic Norfolk. During the 6 days/5 nights, guests will visit the beautiful Virginia Beach Boardwalk, which has been rated one of American’s Best Beach Boardwalks, tour Colonial Williamsburg, enjoy a dinner cruise and entertainment on the Spirit of Norfolk, visit the famous Yankee Candle Village Store, tour Nauticus & the Battleship Wisconsin, and visit the Virginia Beach Aquarium & Marine Science Center.

The trip is scheduled for October 18 - 23, 2021, and costs $755.00 per person double occupancy. A deposit of $75.00 is due upon signing or by June 10, 2021. Prices for single and triple occupancy are also available. Reservations and payments must be made by August 5, 2021. The package includes motorcoach transportation, 5 nights lodging, 5 breakfasts, 3 dinners, and all tour and attraction fees for activities featured in the package. The trip is open to the public with a limit on the number of guests.

The LHDC Retired and Senior Volunteer Program will present an upcoming Atlantic City, Cape May, and Philadelphia bus trip through Diamond Tours Inc. in May 2022. LHDC will provide additional information regarding dates, pricing, and tour information as it becomes available.

RSVP is a part of AmeriCorps Seniors, along with Foster Grandparents and Senior Companions. COMMUNITY FOUNDATION OF CRAWFORD COUNTY AWARDS LHDC GRANT

The Community Foundation of Crawford County recently granted Lincoln Hills Development Corporation $500.00 to help provide emergency preparedness kits to local elderly residents and preschool children. The Retired and Senior Volunteer Program (RSVP) will be kicking off the community project later this year.

“LHDC is grateful for the assistance and our partnership with the Community Foundation of Crawford County,” said Shannon Sprinkle, LHDC Chief Resources Officer.

The RSVP has 92 volunteers throughout Crawford, Perry, and Spencer Counties. The program is recruiting new volunteers to participate in volunteer opportunities such as the Food Fighter Project, Caring Companions, Bulk Mail Team, vision screenings for local preschool children, or various other possibilities. FIFTH THIRD BANK AWARDS LHDC GRANT

Fifth Third Bank recently granted Lincoln Hills Development Corporation $2,500.00 to help support under-served individuals in the agency’s service area.

“LHDC is very appreciative of the local support provided by the Fifth Third Bank Sponsorship Program over the past seven (7) years,” said Shannon Sprinkle, LHDC Chief Resources Officer.

The grant awarded in 2020 provided personal protective equipment in conjunction with LHDC to local healthcare workers, staff, and clients in Crawford, Perry, and Spencer Counties.
